Philip Bower, LICSW
I’m Philip A. Bower, LICSW, and I provide therapy for LGBTQIA+ adults, veterans, and others
who have spent too long surviving inside roles that left too little room for the full truth of who
they are.
My work is warm, collaborative, and affirming. I often support clients navigating anxiety,
depression, trauma, grief, identity development, burnout, shame, relationship stress, men’s
mental health, religious or cultural conditioning, and the process of becoming more fully
themselves. I also provide kink-affirming, polyamory/ENM-affirming, and LGBTQIA+ affirming
care.
Therapy with me is not about forcing you into a version of “better” that does not fit. It is about
creating enough safety, honesty, and room to notice what you have been carrying, what has
helped you survive, and what may no longer need to lead your life.
My approach is relational, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and rooted in compassion. I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and self-compassion practices, while always centering your lived experience, values, and goals.
Clients often come to me when they are tired of shrinking, performing, masking, or explaining themselves to people who were never really listening. Together, we can work toward a life that feels more honest, sustainable, and yours.
